Tyler, Tx — It is amazing to cover the news.
One thing this week that has amazed me. You can't get any of the mainstream media to care one bit about four oath-taking U.S. consulate workers who are murdered in Libya. But they are absolutely smitten with the linebacker from Notre Dame story.
You see it everywhere you go. I am still not quite sure why a kid duped was such a big deal.
Don't get me wrong, it's sad and embarrassing for Notre Dame, but most of the big media I have seen is just taken with it.
I spoke at a lunch this week and someone asked me what it will take to reporters to start paying attention to the news again..
I don't think they ever will. They have done what they can to protect this president. I have said before, I think all TV news is heading to opinion.
The bigs have been there for years. They would not admit it, but they are.
The way to get change is to hammer your politicians. Hold them accountable. I know that's a dull plan, but that's the only way I know how.
A media friend and I were discussing this infatuation with this football player story this morning and he utters these words, and boy, are they right. "Investigative journalism is dead, except for sports news."
Think about it.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
