Trooper involved in Smith County crash

Smith County, Tx (KETK) — A Department of Public Safety trooper was involved in a minor crash Monday afternoon.

According to Smith County DPS officials, the officer wrecked shortly after 12 p.m. at FM 2015 and I-20.

The trooper was turning around on FM 2015 when the front end of his vehicle clipped a truck.

There was minor damage to the vehicles, but there were no injuries.

Authorities say the trooper had been searching the area for a motorcyclist who had been speeding.
