Longview, TX (Longview News-Journal) — The Longview Public Library’s Genealogy/Local History Department will hold a lock-in Feb. 15 for genealogy buffs.
The doors will be locked at 6 p.m.
Library computers will be available for free access to the Footnote database of millions of military records, Dawes Rolls and other records.
Other databases that will be available include the Ancestry and the Heritage Quest database of Census, Revolutionary War Pension Records, the Freedman’s Bank, PERSI and thousands of family history books.
Attendees also can search the Newsbank Historical Newspapers database.
Attendees should bring their own laptops to use the library’s WiFi. However, Footnote and Ancestry are only accessible on the library’s computers.
