Still unclear whether arson case is related
Longview, TX — UPDATE (2:10pm): Longview Police officials have released more information about the shooting and stabbing that happened on Tuesday night at the Village South apartment complex.
Authorities tell KETK, one person was shot outside the complex's laundry room.
The shooter then ran into a nearby apartment and shot two more people.
According to officials, the shooter did not know the people in the apartment and had chosen it at random.
There was a struggle that followed, and the shooter was stabbed.
Four people, including the shooter, were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Officials are not releasing names at this time, until they investigate furtherm and no arrests have yet been made.
Meanwhile, Longview fire officials are still investigating the arson that took place around the same time in the laundry room.
It is still not clear whether the two incidents are connected.
UPDATE (Wednesday, 8:09 am): The fire at the Village South Apartments on South Green Street Tuesday night has been ruled arson, according to Longview Fire Marshal Johnny Zackary.
Zackary tells KETK, the fire started in a cabinet in the laundry room.
Officials still are not certain whether the shooting and possible stabbing that occurred around the same time is related to the fire.
The Longview Police and Fire departments are both investigating.
KETK will update this story as the information is released.

However, we do know there was a fire inside at laundry room.
And, we do know at least 3 people were taken to a local hospital with either stab or gun shot wounds.
No word if these two incidents are related.
