Smith County, Tx — The Smith County Clerk’s Office is introducing an updated, color design for Smith County Marriage Licenses, just in time for couples tying the knot at Valentine’s Day.
“Our marriage license has not been revised since 1959 and we felt it was time to take a look at new options for Smith County.”
Tyler is known as the Rose Capitol of America and as the world’s largest grower of commercially produced rose bushes Mrs. Phillips thought it only fitting to have the lovely Tyler Rose displayed on the Smith County marriage licenses.
The new marriage license, printed using four colors, features a gold border and an elegant burgundy rose.
“It has caught the attention of other County being hailed as one of the most attractive marriage licenses in the state,” Mrs. Phillips added.
The previously used black and white marriage license displayed a picture that appeared to have been taken in the late 1800’s.
“We look forward to couples in neighboring counties traveling to Smith County for their marriage license simply for its beauty,” Mrs. Phillips added.
The new colorful design comes at less than half the price of the old black and white license. The County Clerk’s Office is anticipating an increase in revenue with couples traveling to Smith County to purchase the newly designed marriage license.
