Nacogdoches County, TX (KETK) — A traffic stop ended in the arrest of three people and the confiscation of 23 pounds of marijuana over the weekend.
According to Nacogdoches County Sheriff officials, on Saturday morning, deputies stopped two vehicles that were following each other heading northbound on Highway 59.
During the traffic stop, deputies noticed that the people in the vehicles were very nervous and gave conflicting statements.
Deputies were given consent to search both vehicles and found 23 lbs of marijuana in the trunk of one of the vehicles.
Three people were arrested and booked into the Nacogdoches County jail.
Chinika Pittman, 27, Elva Mayweather, 34, and Conrado Hinds, 42, are charged with possession of marijuana and criminal conspiracy.
They are all from Lawrenceville, GA.
The estimated street value of the drugs is $23,000.
