A new survey shows two cities in East Texas are making a top ten list.
Which cities are they?
And what category is it that bumped these two cities to the top ten.
It's definitely great news for East Texas to see cities improving.
KETK spoke with the Tyler Economic Development Council about the survey.
Tyler and Longview are ranked in the top ten "Best Performing Cities".
The Milkin Institute research company based in California conducted a survey looking at economic growth in small cities, rating salary growth, high-tech industries and job growth.
Close to 200 Metropolitan areas were included in the survey.
Longview is ranked number six on the list.
KETK spoke to the Tyler Economic Development Council on this survey and tells KETK where Tyler ranks.
"It showed us ranked number nine of about 180 small cities all over the U.S.., so that's very positive for Tyler that shows our economy is diversified and improving after this recession," says Tom Mullins, President and CEO.
He adds, "Technology job creation, particularly in the the telecommunications area, we've had a lot of growth in small internet and software companies, and technical design companies that have chosen to come to Tyler because it's such a high quality community."
