Tyler TX (KETK) — It's almost that time of year again. Super Bowl Sunday.
Even though a Texas team isn't playing this year, restaurants and bars expect many East Texans to watch the big game.
Paired with football,of course, is all the good dips, chips, pizza and wings.
Restaurants and bars around East Texas are gearing up for the match up between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens.
"Two good teams in football is always great even though the Cowboys aren't in it. A lot of people will be watching," said owner of Bruno's Pizza Jay Rumbelow.
Bruno's Pizza ordered hundreds of pounds of extra dough and 60 pounds of wings to prepare for the big match off.
"We expect to be very busy. We bought a lot of extra wings and plenty of pizza. We're ready for it," said Rumbelow.
Same with Where's Rufus Sports Bar.
"Everybody loves to go out with their friends on Super Bowl Sunday. It's just an excuse to get out and drink and get rowdy with your buddies," said bartender Dani Casebeer.
According to studies, Super Bowl Sunday is the second largest food consumption day of the year behind Thanksgiving.
And Americans will eat 1.23 billion chicken wings during the game.
No matter what kind of food it is, as long as there is food, some people are happy with that.
