Longview — The U.S. Postal Service’s decision Wednesday to stop mail delivery on Saturdays didn’t appear to ruffle many feathers in Longview.
A Chamber of Commerce spokeswoman said it would have a negligible effect on businesses; the AARP said most Social Security checks are automatically deposited in bank accounts, and even state welfare officials said it’s been years since they used the post office to deliver checks. Everything now is done on a card.
