Kilgore, TX (Longview News-Journal) — Kilgore school trustees continued to narrow their search for a new superintendent Wednesday in a closed session, Board President Janet Marley reported Thursday.
"We have four candidates under active consideration," Marley said. "We are currently investigating two of the candidates to determine if one of them can be the next superintendent for the school district."
State law requires school districts to release the names of up to three finalists once they are formally chosen through a vote in open session. No vote has occurred in the culling process, Marley said.
Kilgore began searching for a schools leader after Superintendent Jody Clements left in August to accept an assistant superintendency position with the Longview ISD.
