Frankston, TX (KETK) He's been at Frankston High School for a quarter-century.
Indians basketball coach Robert Loper talked with KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner about reaching a milestone.
Loper won his 800th game last Friday.
What did that mean to him?
"That means you've been in it a long time. Longevity helps you reach a milestone like 800 wins by being around a long time. The 2002 team went to the state tournament. Great group of kids. No selfishness. Great kids to be around. One of them is my assistant coach today. I love basketball because you meet so many fine people and compete. I've always been a competitor. Basketball is a team game. It allows folks to experience situations similar to life. There are ups and downs. You learn how to win and you learn how to lose, how to accept defeat, still get up and keep going."
