The flowers, the candy, the jewelry, love and romance:The ideal Valentine's Day happens for some.
But for many, they've had experience with Valentine's "anticipointment."
Whether you are on the giving or receiving end of it, many East Texans say they have had their experiences with it.
Pam Gabriel with Sweet Gourmet says they have heard the "dog house" story several times, of husbands and boyfriends forgetting the day altogether.
She says the last minute rush never fails on Valentine's Day.
The rush usually picks up around mid to late afternoon, especially if the holiday falls on a weekday.
Popular trends in the chocolate world, Gabriel says, include variations mixed with sea salt, bacon, and other strange flavors like ginger.
