Tyler, Tx (KETK) — Right now, on Capitol Hill, they are fighting about a sequester. That's a $5 word for government cut. Like tax increase has become "investment."
Many in the U.S. military are furious our fighting men and women at only getting a 1% pay increase. You know, our military folks. The ones getting shot at and taking chances.
I know they volunteered for the job, but it's a very important job.
Mclatchy newspapers are reporting today, the processing time for disability claims at the Department of Veterans Affairs worsened in a majority of its regional offices last year, and the VA has struggled with its much-anticipated plan to correct its problems, according to two recent audits and a review of department data.
The result for veterans is longer waits often for disability decisions that are incorrect.
But, according to some, fighting folks are forgotten because Congress once again is trying to save it's own hide-- enter Nancy Pelosi.
She told reporters this week, Congress should not have to take a pay, but because it would diminish the dignity of lawmakers' jobs.
She said this-- and I quote-- "I don't think we should do it; I think we should respect the work we do," Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol. "I think it's necessary for us to have the dignity of the job that we have rewarded."
Rewarded? You ran for those jobs?
Tell me one person in Congress who will starve.
I'm sure there are a few there in Congress who are not rich, but not many.
That's my point of view, what's yours?
