(KETK) - Tyler Tx — Gas prices are up yet again.
Most people we spoke to are not enjoying seeing those number at the gas station trend upward every day.
For the past 32 days, unleaded gas has increased by about 13%.
According to AAA, this means the average price for a gallon of regular unleashed gas is $3.73 a gallon.
People are furious and wondering why this is happening.
"It's bad. It costs now almost what it does to get to work and what you make in a week. That's just horrible. How can you survive," said Valero cashier Shelia Deaton.
"It's outrageous. I make it pay check to pay check so if I could, I would ride a bike but that is too far," said college student Kathleen Miller.
We asked Valero cashier Shelia Deaton if a lot of customers have complained about the spike.
Some are coming up with a plan to beat the prices.
"Mostly lets get a bicycle that's what I hear from most people. I need a bicycle or walk, "said Deaton.
What are the reasons behind the price spike?
Experts are saying it's from rising crude oil prices to production cuts and refinery closes.
These changes are affecting the everyday American, especially those who drive company cars for their line of work.
Some businesses are saying the spike will mean changes in their company, which will then affect their customers.
"As the gas prices have gone up, so has the cost of our business. That has been very detrimental for us," said Karla Gregory, who works for Home Care Network.
"Ten years ago when prices were a dollar or two less a gallon people complained about it, but now who knows what's going to happen," said Design Center Signs Install Supervisor Mike Wade.
