Emory TX (KETK) — A woman from Emory bought a portrait of an American sailor at a Goodwill store in Sulphur Springs, and has been working ever since to find it's rightful owner.
Well now, her search is finally over.
"I knew it shouldn't be there, so i had to get it," Teresa Aguilar said.
And for three dollars she did, and brought it back to her hometown of Emory.
From there, she shared the picture online, made phone calls, and tracked any lead she could to find the portrait's family.
This week she found the rightful owners, through a series of connections, she found the man's family, and found out the man's name, Sean Caszebelt.
"I was very grateful to her for giving me a call I had no idea she had found the picture of my son," said Caszebelt mother Donna Redding.
Redding lives in Combine, a small town just outside of the Dallas Metroplex.
She says, getting the picture back is great, but Teresa's sentiment means even more.
And for a woman who's oldest son will also be joining the Navy in the coming year, this portrait, of a man she has never met, deserved more than a passing glance at a Sulphur springs goodwill.
"They are just young men and young women that joined to protect us, and protect our way of life so why should we not try to find someone that's missing" Aguilar said.
The two women plan to meet each other Saturday morning at the Brookshire's in Emory.
