Tyler, Texas (KETK) — In lieu of the recent negative publicity CSCOPE has endured over the last few months.
The Texas Senate Education Committee held a hearing about CSCOPE in January, and because of that the developers of CSCOPE have decided to make it easy for people like you and me to check out the lessons inside the so-called "Anti-American" curriculum.
CSCOPE was implemented into Texas schools in 2007, but it hasn't been until recently that controversy about content of the curriculum has made national headlines. There have been claims that some of the lessons are swayed in favor of Islamic religion, and some of the language used in the course materials is Anti-American. (All of those claims were denied by CSCOPE)
Because of this CSCOPE plans to make their curriculum transparent to the public, Mason Moses from the Education Services Center/CSCOPE tells KETK, “All lessons will be online. We're still working on the process on how fast we can get all that out but we are dedicated to that and that is something we are going to be doing in the near future."
KETK doesn’t know when the new CSCOPE website will launch but we will keep you updated on anything related to this story.
