Marshall — Two people identified as suspects in the shooting death of a Marshall man were held Monday in the Houston City Jail.
According to Houston jail officials, the suspects, Oriel Jacinta Alexander, 21, and Jason Stevens Rand, 31, were booked into the jail about 10 p.m. Sunday.
Alexander was being held on a murder warrant at the women’s facility, and Rand was held at the central location on a fugitive warrant and for possession of a controlled substance, according to the City of Houston Jail Division website.
The pair were arrested after Marshall police Saturday released a description of the suspects, notifying the public they were wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of David James Cherry and that both were considered armed and dangerous. Police said they were last seen driving a white 2003 Chevrolet Malibu and possibly headed to the Houston area.
