Tyler, TX (KETK) — A fire broke out at a duplex in Tyler on Wednesday morning.
It happened just after 1:30 am on the 300 block of Saunders Ave.
There was heavy fire in the one-story building when firefighters arrived.
Authorities with the Tyler Fire Department tell KETK, six engines and a ladder truck were dispatched to the scene, along with a district chief and investigator.
The fire was quickly under control, but two families have been displaced. Red Cross was notified to provide assistance.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
One firefighter suffered second degree burns during the blaze. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and released later Wednesday morning.
