I agree, the law should bet left alone but you stated "You see right now, the police, the people first on scene who know something about firearms, make the call whether the person protecting themselves will be prosecuted or no charges will be filed". The truth is, the police only make the call to arrest and charge or not. The police do not make the call whether the person protecting themselves will be prosecuted.
