There are conflicting statements in this article about medications - one that they alter perceptions and one that they help keep mental illness under control. 50% of people in the United States will have a diagnosable serious mental illness at some point in their lifetime. So, look around, and you will see that about half of the people that you are around could go off any second because they are "insane" or "mentally disturbed." (whatever those terms mean).
