Rat, Teachers are only paid for 10 months out of 12 and their monthly salary is reduced over those 10 months to cover the other 2 months. Teachers are only out 2 months out of the year. Schools let out in June for the Summer and begin again in August and Teachers work during those 2 months by going to work shops required by the state. The handsome pay is not so handsome for Teachers in small ISDs, most receive the state mandated minimum of 23K annualy. Look it up in the Texas Education Cods
