If companies and employers do not put profits above taking care of their employees or cheat their employees out of compensation for work that has been done then there would be no need for a union. Go back in hiswtory of unions and you will find that unions did not form until employers began cheating employees or the working conditions were so dangerous and the company could careless if employees were in danger just as long as they produced huge profits.
