Many of these people were welcomed to East Texas and given a place to stay. I will say this for East Texas their hospitality is only equaled by their generosity. Both are as big as this great state. I had a few encounters with some of these refugees and most acted like they were owed something. I saw many go to the mall and buy shoes and "bling" with the 2k credit cards they were GIVEN. Not a place to live or food to eat; guess they were waiting for housing and food stamps. Just my experience.
