College Station student charged with capital murder
A student identified by his yearbook photo has been accused in an attack that left a Central Texas man dead and his wife wounded. College Station police say 18-year-old Gabriel Paul Hall has been charged with capital murder and was in the Brazos County Jail on Tuesday.
Electronic jail records did not list an attorney for Hall, who's held on $750,000 bond. Police say Edwin Shaar Jr. was dead at the scene Thursday, with gunshot and stab wounds. Linda Shaar was stabbed. She was hospitalized Tuesday in stable condition.
Police located Hall at his residence Friday after a jogger reported seeing a student nearby around the time of the attack and pointed him out in an A&M Consolidated High School yearbook. Police believe Hall wanted to burglarize the couple's home.
