ANSON, TEXAS - Authorities say four people have died in a vehicle crash after a driver failed to stop at a rural highway intersection in West Texas.

Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Sparky Dean said the accident happened about 11 p.m. Sunday near Anson in Jones County.

Dean tells the Abilene Reporter-News that 25-year-old Stephanie Perkins of nearby Stamford went through
a stop sign on a farm road and collided with a pickup truck traveling on U.S. Highway 180.

Three passengers in Perkins' vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

Perkins was pronounced dead at an Abilene hospital.

The other victims, all from Anson, were 50-year-old Linda Galvan, 40-year-old Jesus Gimaldo Mata and 29-year-old Joe D. Flores.

Only Galvan was wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the pickup wasn't injured.
