Judges finalize state’s May 29 primary
The federal court in San Antonio on Thursday ordered Texas to hold its primary elections May 29.
The court also released the election calendar, re-opening the window to file for office beginning today.
Early voting will run May 14 to 25. The new primary runoff date is July 31.
Gregg County Elections Administrator Kathryn Nealy said Thursday afternoon that voters can expect renewed registration cards by mid-April.
“They’ll be in plenty of time for the May 29 election,” she said. “They’ll also be in plenty of time for the May 12 city and school elections.
