An Eastern Pennsylvania school district has settled two lawsuits filed over secret photos taken on school-issued laptops.
They agreed Monday to pay $610 thousand to settle the suits after admitting to remotely capturing thousands of webcam photos from student laptops.
A student found out about the photos after a vice principal used a laptop photo to confront the student about possible drug use; the student was actually eating candy.
The district says it has already terminated the webcam program.
