Ron Paul — still a presidential candidate — won’t endorse Mitt Romney any time soon

Ron Paul won’t endorse Mitt Romney any time soon – mostly because he’s still a candidate.

Jesse Benton, Paul’s national campaign chairman, told reporters on a conference call “it was premature” to discuss any endorsements, USA Today reported. Despite scaling back his campaign efforts, Paul is still working to accumulate delegates to the Republican National Convention.

After confusion swirled around Ron Paul’s decision to no longer actively campaign for the remaining primaries, including his home state, many thought the Texas congressman had dropped out of the race or suspended his campaign.

I will vote to defend those ideas and pricnciples that those before me gave their lives, a small thing for me to do compared to their great sacrafices, I will vote for Ron Paul. And if you sit there and read these words to think; "Oh he won't get it, he has no chance", I'll remind you that no battle is ever won, no victory is ever claimed by any people who fail to act because defeat appears certain.
