With rumors swirling, Stephen F. Austin announced Wednesday Head Men's Basketball Coach Brad Underwood will remain with the program.

Reports had surfaced the coach had been offered a job at Southern Mississippi and before that offer, a job at Marshall. The school smashed those rumors today in a release on their website.

Stephen F. Austin State University head men's basketball coach Brad Underwood will remain with the university contrary to reports on several social media outlets. Reports surfaced last night that Underwood would be offered the head coaching position at Southern Mississippi with an announcement as early as today.

“Coach Underwood has indicated to me that he will remain a Lumberjack," said SFA Athletics Director Robert Hill. "I look forward to another exciting season with him leading our program, and we will continue to move forward with Coach Underwood and what should be a great basketball team.”

Underwood led the Lumberjacks to a 32-3 record in his first season, including a perfect 18-0 Southland Conference record and SFA’s first NCAA Tournament win over Virginia Commonwealth.
