Los Angeles, CA (KETK) — The former San Francisco Giants relief pitcher turned free agent, Brian Wilson, has decided to sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
"The Beard" will start off a rehab assignment in the minors after a long road of recovery stemming from "Tommy John" surgery in April 2012.
Wilson has recorded 171 saves since signing with the Giants in the 24th round of the 2003 MLB draft after his tenure at Louisiana State University,
The Dodgers' bullpen traveled a rough road early in the season due to the decision to appoint Brandon League as the closer.
Kenley Jansen took over that position in June.
Wilson is set to join the Dodgers' complex in Arizona, then go to Rancho Cucamonga and if all goes accordingly, report to the Dodgers in two weeks.
From 2008-2011, Wilson had the most saves of any major league pitcher raking in 163.
