Friday Football Fever; Kilgore and Troup
Tyler — The Kilgore Bulldogs went to the state semifinals last year.
That was the best season for the Ragin' Red since they won it all nine years ago.
"That team accomplished a lot of things," Kilgore coach Mike Wood said. "This team has to find its own destiny."
"They've got goals," Wood added. "Hopefully in December we'll still be playing football."
Troup coach Dennis Alexander is the fourth winningest coach in Texas high school football history.
He's won 332 games.
This will be his 42nd season.
How does he get ready for yet another season?
"I'm just trying to survive each day," Alexander said. "Coaches started in-service this week and they're worn out by the time they get to practice."
