Hayden Henry writes for the Longview News-Journal.

KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner asked him about Colin Jeter.

The former Longview Lobo will play college ball for LSU.

Henry said...

"It's a true story of perseverance and hard work that's paying off in a big way for him. He had a chance to play for the Air Force Academy but his mother fell ill a month before he was set to leave. He ended up at Kilgore College. He made great strides with the Rangers. He put on 30 pounds. He's heading to Baton Rouge at 6'6", 235 pounds. He impressed the coaches in Baton Rouge and it happened in Longview, too. At spring football practice, a number of recruiters came to check out the current Lobos. A lot of them asked about Colin Jeter, who was working out on the sidelines. This is something he wanted, to have a chance to go to LSU and play in the SEC. It's a once in a lifetime dream for him."
