Jack Stallard is the Sports Editor of the Longview News-Journal.

The Longview Lobos have started spring football.

KETK Sports Director Danny Elzner asked Stallard about the Lobos' chances to win it all.

Stallard said...

"It's not out of the question. Coach John King would say it's way too early to start thinking about that.

This is going to be a very good football team. They've got one of the top running backs in the nation, JaMycal Hasty, and returning quarterback Dezmond Chumley.

They're in other sports right now. Hasty is in track and Chumley is in baseball.

That's given some young kids a chance to show what they can do.

Coach King had an 8-and-1 junior varsity last year. A lot of those kids are trying to earn a spot on the varsity.

The Lobos will plactice Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30, Their spring game will be May 16 at Lobo Stadium. They'll have 15 sessions to workout this spring to get ready for the fall."
