White Oak’s Jake Pullen earned overall Most Valuable Player honors, and state finalist Mineola picked up six superlatives with the release of the 2014 District 8-3A Division I All-District Football Team.
District champion and state semifinalist Henderson earned four superlatives — led by overall Most Valuable Player Zane Boles — with the release of the District 9-4A Division I All-District Football Team.
Gladewater’s Daylon Mack, an immovable force on defense who also did damage running the football, earned Most Valuable Player honors with the release of the District 6-4A Division II All-District Football Team.
Their offense has been highly touted, and rightfully so, but on Friday afternoon at AT&T Stadium, it was the “Black Flag” that flew the highest in Gilmer’s 35-25 win over West Orange-Stark in the Class 4A Division II state
The Gilmer Buckeyes put on show for high school football fans across the nation overcoming an 18-point deficit at halftime to come back and win the 4A - Division II Sate Championship Friday afternoon in Arlington, 35-25.
