Kubiak Pleased With Texans Offense

Kubiak Pleased With Texans Offense
Sports
Sunday, August 21, 2011 - 9:52pm

Houston coach Gary Kubiak hopes the Texans' offense can start every game as it did against New Orleans on Saturday night, producing 24 points and 283 yards on its first four series.

Kubiak said Sunday he liked what he saw from Matt Schaub, the offensive line and running back Ben Tate, seeing his first action in more than a year.

But after breaking down film of Houston's 27-14 victory, Kubiak also noticed several areas that still need improvement, most notably the run defense and return game.

Kubiak said Mario Williams showed more progress in his transition from defensive end to outside linebacker, and linebacker Brian Cushing played well after missing several practices.

He said Texans came out of the game with no serious injuries.
