Brett Favre beat Bill Parcells and the Patriots in Super Bowl 31.

It was the highlight of his hall of fame career.

Favre want to two Super Bowls, he won one of them and he was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player three times.

In 17 seasons Favre threw for over 11 miles, over 61,000 yards.

He was productive. He threw for 442 touchdown passes.

He was durable. He started 275 straight games.

Why retire? Why now?

Favre said he's OK physically but tired mentally.

Favre's fiery leadership brought the Pack back. He turned Green Bay into Titletown again for the first time since the days of Vince Lombardi.

Now, at age 38, Brett Favre is leaving football as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
