Earlier this season, Carthage Bulldog Philip Humber threw the 21st perfect game in MLB history.
But even he has to be impressed with what Longview native Chris Davis did for the Baltimore Orioles Sunday night.
In the 16th inning, tied at six, Davis was called to pitch for the O's.
Davis normally plays the corner infield, but Baltimore ran out of pitchers.
So they asked the East Texan to take the mound instead of heading out to first base.
Davis would end up pitching two scoreless innings, and would get the win as the Orioles finally won 9-6 in the 17th inning.
HE is the first position player from the AL to win a game since 1968.
