Rontrez Johnson was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 1995. Colt Griffin was a first-round pick by Kansas City in the 2001 class which also included Elysian Fields’ Jim Tiller going to Baltimore. Jake Duncan also went to the Orioles in 2003.

Not only are these a handful of local players who were drafted by big-league teams, but they also came through the Marshall Dixie League program and have gone on to become pillars in their communities as well as several coaches, officials and others who’ve been involved through the years.
