FLORIDA - A family friend says Washington Redskins Safety Sean Taylor has died this morning. This just a day after he was shot in the leg at his Florida home.

The former University of Miami star football player was the target of an apparent home invasion and robbery early Monday morning.

He, his girlfriend and their 18 month old baby were reportedly sleeping when a gunman burst into their room. No one else was injured in the break-in...and nothing was stolen. Miami police are still searching for a suspect

Taylor underwent surgery and received a blood transfusion on Monday, but remained unconscious. He was 24 years old.
