The Brooklyn Nets have severed their ties with head coach Avery Johnson.

Johnson was fired after guiding the Nets to a 14-14 record this season, but they have lost 10 of their last 13 games.

The Nets were expected to be a front-runner this season.

Johnson also coached the Dallas Mavericks from 2004 through 2008.
