Rangers Pen Holds up Their End of the Bargain
Francisco Get's First Save of '09
April 8, 2009 - 10:34pm
The Rangers beat the Indians 8-5 in Tuesdays game. THey are now 2-0 for the first time since 1996.
Here's what you might have missed.
Padilla looked great on the mound today. His fastball was on and even when he had to make over 30 pitches in the fourth he still got out of the inning with only one run.
Nelson Cruz made an over the shoulder catch in the fifth that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
Michael Young made the first error of the year after he sailed a throw to first over Chris Davis. Elvis Andrus and C.J Wilson also made errors on throws to Davis.
Josh Hamilton has got wheels! He hit triple in the fifth, and later in that inning beat a close throw to the plate. This is a perfect example of how he can score even when the ball stays in the park.
Frank Francisco got his first save of the year.
Rangers play the Indians again Thursday afternoon.
