Michael Young, the longtime Texas Rangers infielder has decided to retire from the game, and will do so in grand fashion.

After reports surfaced Young was choosing between retiring or hang in for another season, he has decided to step away from the game to focus on his family.

Young played the game he loved for 13 years and recorded 2,375 hits, 185 home runs, 1,030 RBI, a .300 batting average and was selected as an Major League Baseball All-Star five times. He is also the Rangers' all-time hits leader.

Young, 37, is the only player in the past 90 years to have 400 starts at second base, shortstop and third base. He was a fifth-round draft pick for the Toronto Blue jays in 1997 before moving to the Rangers in 2000.

He will officially retire as a member of the Texas Rangers, Friday, at the Ballpark in Arlington.
