Seahawks QB plans to attend Rangers' spring training
Tyler, Texas (KETK) — According to the the baseball agent of the Seattle Seahawks start quarterback Russell Wilson, he will be on-hand at the Texas Rangers' spring training in Surprise, Arizona.
Only a day after winning the most coveted prize in sports, the Lombardi Trophy, the Super Bowl-winning play caller announced he would be attending spring training with the Rangers in late February.
Wilson was selected by the Rangers in the Rule V draft in December, but he hasn't played in the minor leagues since 2011. While with the Asheville Tourists, the Class A Colorado Rockies team, he had a batting average of .229 in a total of 93 games. He recorded five home runs and 26 RBI.
