Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has said it’s often harder to follow up a victory than bounce back from defeat in the posteason. Something about human nature and complacency and all of that.

If so, the Spurs will have to be at their most vigilant Thursday in Game 2 after pasting Portland 116-92 in the opener of their Western Conference semifinal series on Tuesday.
