Texans' O'Brien begins to clean house with release of Dennison, Phillips

Karl Dorrell, Reggie Herring and Vance Johnson have also been let go by the former Nittany Lion.

Bill O'Brien wasted no time cleaning house after being formerly introduced, Friday, as the Houston Texans head coach.

According to The Houston Chronicle, O'Brien has already fired offensive coordinator Rick Dennison and defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.

Phillips served as interim head coach after Gary Kubiak was fired prior to the Texans' final three games.

Karl Dorrell, Reggie Herring and Vance Johnson have also been let go by the former Nittany Lion.

The Texans, who kicked off the 2013-2014 season as Super Bowl contenders, finished the year next to last in scoring with a dismal 2-14 record.
