Texas A&M football boots 2 starters, including East Texan

College Station, Texas (KETK) — Texas A&M Head Coach Kevin Sumlin announced Tuesday the dismissal of two defensive players, including East Texas standout Isaiah Golden.
Golden played high school ball at Carthage ISD and was heavily recruited by many big name programs. In the end, the defensive tackle signed with A&M.
Sumlin also kicked starting linebacker Darian Claiborne off the team.
In a statement, Sumlin said the pair failed to meet the school's standards.
"These two individuals have failed to meet the high expectations and standards that we have for our football players and as representatives of this university.These two players have exhibited a pattern of behavior that we will not tolerate at Texas A&M."
In a press release, the College Station Police Department stated the duo was arrested on a warrant for aggravated robbery.
On May 23 at 10:55 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Hollemon Drive West on reports of an armed robbery. When police made it to the scene, two men, a 20-year-old and 22-year-old, claimed they had been robbed at their apartment in the 1100 block of Jones Butler Road.
A third victim, a 20-year-old man, was at the apartment and had been hit in the head during the incident. Police found him in the apartment with minor injuries.
Investigators learned the three victims had agreed to by drugs from two people. When the sellers arrived to complete the transaction, one pull gun and took the victim's money. During this time, one of the victim's stood up from a couch and was hit in the face with a handgun. The robbers then ran from the scene and police were alerted.
Detectives were able to identify the alleged suspects as Darian Claiborne, 19, and Isaiah Golden, 20. At 3:43 p.m., Claiborne was taken into custody following a traffic stop on South College and Waverly in Bryan. Golden was arrested around 4:30 on the Texas A&M University campus.
Golden and Claiborne were taken to the College Station Police Department where they will be held pending transport to the Brazos County Sheriff's Office on $120,000 bond.

Golden was also arrested for possession of marijuana back in February 2014. Claiborne was taken into custody for a noise violation during the same incident.
