Ron Washington was named the 17th full-time manager in the organization in November of 2006. This is his seventh season at the helm. Washington has guided the Rangers to post season in a club-record of three consecutive years, matching the number of playoff appearances for the first 49 years in Washingon/Texas franchise history.

Washington also led the Rangers to back-to-back World Series games in 2010 and 2011.

According to MLB.com research indicates that Washington was the first manager in major league history (1876-2012) to increase his team's win total in four straight years after his initial season with a club.

Ron Washington has placed in American League Manager of the Year voting for four consecutive seasons, received American League Manager of the Year Award from Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, was named the 2010 Manager of the year by the Boston chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. He was also voted the 2008 Harold McKinney Good Guy Award by the DFW BBWAA Chapter.
