One of the most expensive high school football stadiums in the country will close this fall because of cracks in the concrete.

Eagle football stadium at Allen High School northeast of Dallas cost $60 million to build and opened two years ago. It has been closed since February because extensive cracks have been discovered in the concourse. School officials said design flaws may have contributed to the cracking.

The 18,000 seat facility, home of the state football champions, will need significant repair of the structural problems. School district administrators said the architectural firm and construction company will be on the hook for the repairs.

Allen will not sell tickets for the upcoming season. Tthe school will host three home games at two stadiums in a neighboring city and switch two other home games to road games.

Now tell me that sports in school is not about the money, to bad they do not spend that kind of money educating students.
