Whitehouse High School senior Spencer Shaw’s hard work and dedication is paying off.

Shaw is scheduled to sign a letter of intent Friday May 9 at 11:30 a.m. to play basketball at Oklahoma Christian University located in Edmond, Okla. The signing ceremony will take place in the Arena on the WHS campus.

Shaw was the second leading scoring player during his senior year on the Wildcat Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team and helped lead the team to a 27-6 season. In the 2013-14 season the team won the title of district champions and went on to become region quarterfinalist.

Shaw was named 1st team All-District, received honorable mention on the East Texas Sports Network and was awarded a second honorable mention recognition on the Tyler Morning Telegraph All East Texas Team.

"Spencer has been a rock in our program the last four years and had his best season this year. I'm proud of him and excited that his hard work has paid off, "said Brent Kelley, Whitehouse High School head boys’ basketball coach.

Shaw will join several other senior athletes from Texas and Oklahoma who have recently signed letters to become OCU Eagles.
