Whitehouse LB picks Tarleton State
Whitehouse, Texas (KETK) — Reginald “Reggie” Long, II, signed his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, with The Tarleton State University.
Long finished his high school career at Whitehouse High School as a three-year starter at the middle linebacker position. He finished his senior season with 92 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, five QB sacks, three fumble recoveries, two INT’s, and two TD’s. He was named the District 16-4A Defensive MVP and was also named All East Texas Super Team Linebacker.
Long currently holds a 3.4 GPA and excels in the classroom as well as on the football field. He received Division I FBS offers from Army, Navy, Air Force, Grambling State University, New Mexico State and University of Central Arkansas. He also received Division II offers from Tarleton State University, Henderson State, Texas A&M Commerce, Mid-Western University, Arkansas Tech, Southeastern Oklahoma and West Texas A&M.
Long tells KETK he chose Tarleton because it seemed like home and feels the school and football program will provide him with the necessary skills and opportunities to be successful in life. He established a special bond with the coaching staff and was excited about the business program Tarleton offered.
Long plans to major in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting/Finance and is the son of Reginald and Tanesha Long
